Washington County receives federal funds for safety improvements

Nearly $1 million from the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is funding lighting, reflective traffic signal backplates and other safety improvements to increase visibility on four Washington County roadways and intersections.

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) identified six corridors, four in Washington County and two in Multnomah County, for HSIP funding.Corridors in Washington County are:

• Cedar Hills Boulevard , between Barnes and Farmington roads
• Evergreen Parkway , between 235th Avenue and Town Center Drive
• Murray Boulevard , between Butner and Scholls Ferry roads
• Scholls Ferry Road , between 175th Avenue/Roy Rogers and Laurelwood roads

Work will finish in June. Signal upgrades will require intermittent lane closures.
