Washington County is hosting a community open house to review a refined design for the re-alignment of a short section of Oleson Road in Raleigh Hills. This project will shift the intersections of Oleson Road with the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and Scholls Ferry Road to the east to increase the distance between traffic signals to improve safety. Community members can drop in to discuss the design with project staff from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 in the Montclair Elementary School Cafeteria, 7250 SW Vermont Street.

The project's starting point is a recommended design that was developed in 1996 with participation from partners including Metro and TriMet, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the cities of Beaverton and Portland, an advisory committee of community members and other stakeholders. Though the 1996 project included other proposed changes, Washington County is currently advancing only the Oleson Road realignment, which has been refined to reduce environmental impacts. Washington County is committed to building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
