URMD publishes annual report

The Washington County Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) has published its 2014-2015 Annual Report.

URMD covers 441 miles of urban neighborhood streets that are outside of cities. Property owners in urban unincorporated Washington County pay $0.2456 per $1,000 assessed value in service district tax for URMD. The owner of a home with an assessed value of $200,000 pays less than $50 per year for URMD.

Pavement maintenance is URMD's primary mission. Nearly 95 percent of URMD streets are rated in "good" or better pavement condition.

The District also constructs small safety improvements. URMD allocated more than $8.5 million for 25 safety improvement projects during the last four years.

A citizen advisory committee reviews URMD services and makes recommendations about service levels, maintenance plans and safety improvements. The committee invites residents, property owners and users of URMD-maintained streets to complete the URMD customer satisfaction survey.
