The Washington County Board of Commissioners has adopted Resolution & Order 15-25, which will increase Transportation Development Tax (TDT) rates by 0.962 percent effective July 1, 2015.

The TDT is levied countywide, and is assessed based on the estimated traffic generated by each development. TDT revenues are dedicated to transportation capital improvements designed to accommodate growth. Eligible projects are on major roads, including sidewalks and bike lanes, as well as certain transit capital projects, including bus shelters.

TDT rates are adjusted each year based on a five-year rolling average of changes in the cost of road construction, labor and right-of-way. Washington County code requires the Board to take action on the TDT adjustment by May 1 each year, with adjusted rates taking effect July 1.

Visit our Transportation Development Tax page for more information and to view the TDT rate tables (effective July 1, 2015).

Washington County is committed to protecting the uses of the land and to building and maintaining a great transportation system--balancing care for the natural environment, economic development, safety and community livability.
