SW 80th Avenue will close July 15, between Colin Court and Taylors Ferry Road, for culvert replacement and utility work.

The closure will continue through October. The replacement of the culvert, north of Florence Lane, is part of the Taylors Ferry Road/80th Avenue project.

The project also includes replacement of a bridge on Taylors Ferry Road, between 80th Avenue and Washington Drive, and a new sidewalk on Taylors Ferry Road, between Washington Drive and 78th Place. Construction will finish by the end 2019. Cost is $2.6 million, funded through the County's Road Capital Bridge Fund, Road Fund and the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD).

Taylors Ferry Road closed in June, due to bridge damage.

An open house on the project will be from 5-7 p.m. July 11 at Metzger Park Whiting Hall, 8400 SW Hemlock St. County staff will be available to answer questions and solicit comments. No formal presentation is planned; stop by any time during event hours.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
