The National Weather Service is predicting significant rainfall starting tonight [Thursday, 11/12] through Saturday in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon.
Heavy rains reduce driver's visibility and can result in flooding. Be prepared and make smart choices:
- When driving, turn on your lights, slow down and watch for bicyclists and pedestrians. Visit ODOT's webpage for Driving in the Rain Tips.
- Clear out storm drains and culverts adjacent to your property to prevent flooding.
- Do not move or drive around barricades. Never enter areas where water covers the roadway. Even a few inches of flowing water can sweep you off the road. If you see flooding on the road -- turn around, don't drown.
To request help or report a road hazard call:
- 9-1-1 (life-threatening emergency).
- 503-629-0111 (after hours, non-emergency).
- 503-846-ROAD (846-7623) or [email protected] (during business hours).
- 503-681-3600 Clean Water Services (flooding in urban unincorporated areas).
- Use this online form for non-emergency road service.
- Follow @WashCoRoads on Twitter for road alerts.
No flood warning has been issued. However, should local flooding occur:
- Call the appropriate jurisdiction in city neighborhoods and on County roads inside cities.
- Call Clean Water Services at 503-681-3600 for roads in urban unincorporated areas.
- Visit one of the self-service sandbag sites located throughout the County, if needed.
Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
