For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 23, 2011
On November 29 and 30, Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation will need to perform multiple closures for 20-minute increments on Glencoe Road at the McKay Creek bridge, located north of Evergreen Road. The closures will occur during the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in order to allow for the delivery of 115-foot long bridge beams. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes or plan for delays of 20 minutes or more.
This project is replacing the existing bridge on Glencoe Road over McKay Creek with a new longer bridge structure. The new structure will be approximately 40 feet wide, 115 feet long and approximately ten feet higher in elevation to help restore natural stream flow conditions and to prevent the new bridge from flooding. The project is funded through the Washington County Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
