Open house for SW 198th Avenue project is Dec. 6

An open house showcasing the improvements planned for SW 198th Avenue will be 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6 at Edwards Aloha Community Center, 4375 SW Edwards Place.

An open house showcasing proposed improvements SW 198th Avenue will be from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6 at Edwards Aloha Community Center, 4375 SW Edwards Place.

County staff will be available to discuss the proposed design plan. No formal presentation is planned; stop by anytime during open house hours.

The project will widen 198th Avenue to three lanes, one travel lane in each direction, with a center turn lane, between Blanton Street and Farmington Road. Additional improvements include continuous bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road, safety enhancements at intersections, street lighting, some landscaping and storm drainage upgrades.

The project will also include realignment and improvements to 198th Avenue at Blanton Street and Kinnaman Road intersections.
