Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation announces an Open House on May 19 for the proposed sidewalk improvements on NW 119th Avenue between NW Cornell Road and NW McDaniel Road. The event will be held at Bonny Slope Elementary School, 11775 NW McDaniel Road, Portland. The public is invited to drop in any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to learn about the proposed sidewalks and discuss questions or concerns with staff. No formal presentation is scheduled.

The project targets a section of NW 119th Avenue that currently lacks sidewalks. It is in close proximity to shopping, schools and transit facilities. The project will also include minor street widening and storm drainage improvements. The funding for the project comes from capital funds set aside for bike and pedestrian improvements.
