Traffic on Tualatin-Sherwood and Boones Ferry roads will be reduced to one lane in each direction during repair of the railroad crossing planned for 8 p.m. Oct. 11 to 6 a.m. Oct. 12.

Traffic signals will be shut down and flaggers will control traffic through the area. Expect delays or use alternate routes.

The repair work is weather dependent and the schedule may change. For current schedule information, check www.wc-roads.com.

Repair of the railroad crossing will be performed by Portland & Western Railroad, with traffic control provided by a contractor.

This temporary repair of the crossing will ensure the safety of road and railroad users. More extensive replacement of the crossing is being planned for 2017 and will require a full road closure, similar to the crossing repair on Tualatin-Sherwood Road between Southwest Oregon Street and Southwest Gerda Lane in 2015.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and to operating the County roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
