Micro-Surface Paving Extended Through July 17UPDATED: 07/16/2014
The contractor's schedule has changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Barnes Road work will occur on Thursday and the contractor will finish up remaining work on 197th Avenue and Rock Road on Thursday as well.
Here is the latest schedule as of Wednesday, July 16:

- 160th Avenue (Davis to Farmington)
- Kemmer Road (190th to Mayberry)
- 197th Avenue (Rock to Baseline)
- Rock Road (197th to 204th)
- Barnes Road (Saltzman to Cornell)
Original Release:
Micro-surface paving begins Monday, July 14 on several county roads (list below). The anticipated schedule is subject to change since this preventive maintenance surface treatment must be applied when the weather is dry. The approved work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Washington County and its contractor, VSS International, will work together to help ensure traffic moves as smoothly and safely as possible.
Advisory signs will be posted before the work begins. Roads will remain open, but may be limited to one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. Expect up to 15-minute delays. Use alternate routes if possible.

- Barnes Road (Saltzman to Cornell)
- Meadow Drive (Walker to Downing)
Tuesday, July 15, 2014
- North Avenue (Glencoe to Gordon)
- 197th Avenue (Rock to Baseline)
- Rock Road (197th to 204th)
Wednesday, July 16, 2014
- 160th Avenue (Davis to Farmington)
- Kemmer Road (190th to Mayberry)
Current road work schedules are posted at www.wc-roads.com. Schedules may change due to weather, contractors' schedules, or availability of materials.
Micro-surface paving is a cost-effective “quick set” preventive maintenance treatment that extends the life of the road surface in an economical way, while causing the least amount of inconvenience to residents and the traveling public while the work is taking place.
