Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation invites the public to attend a May 16 Open House for the Basalt Creek Transportation Refinement Plan. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Tualatin High School Commons, 22300 SW Boones Ferry Road. Several brief overview presentations will be held during the open house, providing an opportunity to learn more about this planning effort. Staff from Washington County and the cities of Tualatin and Wilsonville will be available to discuss the planning effort, answer questions, and listen to public feedback.
This transportation planning effort is being conducted jointly by Washington County, Metro, and the two cities, in coordination with the Oregon Department of Transportation. It will identify the major future arterial roadway framework and potential future I-5 interchange improvements and/or overcrossings that may be needed over the next 25 years to support current land uses and anticipated development within and adjacent to the Basalt Creek planning area. This study builds upon prior transportation planning efforts, including the I-5 – Hwy 99W Connector study and the Regional Transportation Plan. Upon identification of the major transportation framework, the cities of Tualatin and Wilsonville will develop a concept plan for future land uses in the Basalt Creek and West Railroad planning areas.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
