Washington County invites the public to attend a combined open house on March 18, 2015 for the 178th Avenue, 209th Avenue and Kinnaman Road safety improvement projects. The event will be held at the International School of Beaverton, 17770 SW Blanton St. The public is invited to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the proposed improvements for all three projects. Project staff will be available to answer questions and solicit comments. No formal presentation is planned.

Project Descriptions:

  • The 178th Avenue project will construct sidewalks between TV Highway and Johnson; funded through the Gain Share program.
  • The 209th Avenue project will construct a separated pedestrian path on the east side of 209th between Blanton and the railroad tracks; funded through the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) Safety Improvement Program.
  • The Kinnaman Road project will construct a widened shoulder, intended for bicycle and pedestrian use, on the north side of Kinnaman between 185th and Farmington; funded through the URMD Safety Improvement Program.

Construction for all three projects is anticipated to begin this summer or fall 2015.
