Traffic on the Gales Creek Road bridge will be shifted from the north lane to the south lane Friday (Jan. 27) afternoon for demolition and construction of the north half of the bridge.

Gales Creek Road may be closed for up to 20 minutes on Friday during the lane change.

The old bridge over Gales Creek was narrow and showing signs of decay. Construction of a new bridge began in June, starting on the south side of the bridge. Constructing the bridge in two stages allows traffic flow to continue during construction.

Construction is expected to be completed by in May 2017.
