For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 05, 2011

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation, Division

Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation invites the community to an Open House on Tuesday, July 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 15505 NW Springville Road, Portland. The Open House will provide attendees an opportunity to:

  • Review the adopted North Bethany Subarea Plan.
  • Learn about proposed Community Plan and Community Development Code amendments that address 'placeholder' issues identified during adoption of the Subarea Plan last year. These proposed amendments will be incorporated into Ordinance 739, which will be considered by the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners this summer. Resolution of these remaining issues will allow urban land use designations to be put in place in North Bethany.
  • Learn about opportunities to provide testimony or comments on the proposed amendments during the upcoming Public Hearings process for Ordinance 739.

Staff from the department's Long Range Planning division will be available to discuss the recommendations and intended outcomes. There are no formal presentations, so drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m.

For those who cannot attend the open house, all materials and additional information on the North Bethany Subarea project is available on the project web site: www.bethanyplan.org
