For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 01, 2019

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation

The public is encouraged to comment on draft rules proposed for wireless telecommunication facilities in County road rights-of-way.

The draft rules are available here. Email comments through 5 p.m. Oct. 15.

The Federal Communications Commission requires local jurisdictions to allow small wireless facilities. LUT's issue paper Telecommunication Facilities Located in the Right-of-Way identifies the need to amend County right-of-way permitting rules and the Community Development Code to accommodate federally required small wireless facilities.
