Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation plans to close Helvetia Road between Jacobson Road and West Union Road for bridge repairs. The road will be closed July 13 through 24. (See map.)
The road must be closed to all traffic, including bicycles, to ensure worker and roadway user safety while two bridge bulkheads are replaced. All roadway users are advised to use alternate routes. About 4,400 vehicles a day travel on Helvetia Road at this location, according to 2008 traffic counts.
