For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation plans to pour concrete on the east side of the bridge deck on Glencoe Road at McKay Creek, located between Wren Road and Evergreen Road on Thursday, July 26. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays of up to 20 minutes and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the work area.
The concrete work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and should take only one day to complete. Concrete placement will occur until approximately 5 p.m. Then the contractor will allow the concrete to cure until approximately 8 p.m. to prevent cracking due to traffic loads.
During the concrete work and curing, a single lane of traffic will generally remain open on Glencoe Road; however, delays of up to 20 minutes may be experienced. The public’s patience is greatly appreciated as we advance this important improvement project.
The Washington County Fair begins on July 26. Fairgoers are encouraged to use light rail if possible (related media release).
