For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 22, 2016
Construction on Fischer Road, between SW 131st Avenue and Highway 99W, will begin Dec. 5.
Construction will occur 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Flaggers will direct traffic through lane closures. Aside from local traffic, all other travelers are advised to use alternate routes, such as Highway 99W to Beef Bend Road, when possible. School busses and emergency vehicles will be permitted at all times.
Parking on Fischer Road is prohibited. "No Parking" signs will be installed along the road, and law enforcement will monitor for compliance.
The $1.1 million project includes sidewalks and bicycle lanes, painted crosswalks at SW 126th and SW 131st avenues, installation of LED street lights and speed display signs. Funding is through Gain Share and King City Transportation Development Tax. The project was originally scheduled for summer, but was delayed as the design team explored options for a visual buffer along the north side of Fischer Road.
