Washington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation invites the public to attend a combined Open House on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 for the upcoming Brookwood Parkway and Groveland Drive improvement projects. The event will be held at the Hillsboro Main Library, 2850 NE Brookwood Parkway. The public is welcome to drop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the proposed design for both projects and to provide comments for the project teams. No formal presentations are planned.
The Brookwood Parkway project will widen Brookwood between Meek Road and Shute Road to three lanes in each direction with continuous bike and pedestrian facilities. Additional improvements include utility upgrades, street lighting and traffic signal modifications. Funding for this project is provided through the State of Oregon’s Jobs and Transportation Act (JTA) and City of Hillsboro Transportation Development Tax (TDT) funds.
The Groveland Drive project will construct a new two lane roadway that will realign Groveland Drive starting east of Groveland Road and reconnecting to Helvetia Road at the current intersection with Schaaf Road. Funding for this project is provided through the JTA program and the County’s Road Capital Program.
For more information, visit the Brookwood Parkway project website, the Groveland Drive project website or contact Kim Haughn, Public Information Officer, at (503) 846-7822 or [email protected].
Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
