For Immediate Release: Friday, December 14, 2012

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation

On December 19 and 20, Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation will need to perform multiple road closures for 5-minute increments on Scholls Ferry Road at the Fanno Creek bridge, located between Allen Blvd and Denney Rd. The closures will occur between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in order to allow for the delivery of 85-foot long bridge beams. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes or plan for delays.

This project is replacing the Scholls Ferry Road bridge over Fanno Creek with a newer longer structure that spans the creek, restoring natural stream flow. It will include two travel lanes, a center turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks.

Funding is provided through phase 3c of the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3c). Construction is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.
