A contractor for Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation will perform overnight striping on Evergreen Road between Brookwood Parkway and 25th Avenue for three consecutive nights, beginning the evening of Tuesday, May 7 and continuing through the morning of Friday, May 10. Commuters are advised to anticipate long delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes (Cornell Road or Highway 26). This work is weather dependent.
Striping work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. During this work, a single lane of traffic in each direction will generally remain open on Evergreen Road; however, delays of 20 minutes or more may be experienced.
Motorists should use caution when they encounter the road striping operation. Do not drive across the thermo-plastic stripes.
This striping is the final work needed to complete the Evergreen Road (253rd to 25th Avenue) improvement project. The project provided two travel lanes in each direction, a center turn lane, sidewalks and buffered bicycle lanes. For more information about this project, please contact Project Manager Bill Hunter at (503) 846-7800 or [email protected] or visit the project website.
Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
