Rainy weather has returned to Washington County. Showers are predicted for the weekend and into next week.

In addition to flooding, heavy rains reduce driver's visibility. Be prepared and make smart choices:

  • Clear out storm drains and culverts to prevent flooding.
  • When driving, use headlights, slow down, increase following distance, signal early and watch for bicyclists and pedestrians.
  • Visit ODOT's webpage for Driving in the Rain Tips.(Link is external)
  • Do not move or drive around barricades. Never enter areas where water covers the roadway. Even a few inches of flowing water can sweep vehicles off the road. If there is flooding on the road - turn around, don't drown.

When encountering a road hazard, please report it:

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
