County to Hold Open House for Cornelius Pass Road

Washington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation and the City of Hillsboro invite you to attend a neighborhood Open House regarding the upcoming improvements being planned for Cornelius Pass Road.

The new improvements will include replacement of the bridge over Beaverton Creek and widening Cornelius Pass Road to five lanes with bike lanes and sidewalks between Lois Street and the MAX light rail bridge. Waterlines will also be upgraded as part of this project.

The Open House will introduce this project to the local neighborhoods, collect any initial community feedback and encourage future public involvement. Staff from Washington County's Capital Project and Engineering divisions, along with staff from the City of Hillsboro, will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions.

This project is being funded through a combination of Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3C) county property tax funds, County Traffic Impact Fees (TIF) and City of Hillsboro Traffic Impact Fees. Construction is anticipated to begin March of 2010.

Washington County and the City of Hillsboro are committed to building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
