Cornell Road at Elam Young Parkway traffic signal outage through June 10UPDATED: 06/09/2015
Update:
Activation is scheduled to occur June 10 by 5 p.m., pending no further unforeseen circumstances.
Original Release:
A traffic signal cabinet at the western intersection of Cornell Road and Elam Young Parkway in Hillsboro is expected to be disabled through Tuesday, June 9, after it was struck by an eastbound vehicle traveling on Cornell Road on Wednesday, June 3.
A contractor is repairing the signal throughout the weekend, and is anticipating having it reactivated by Tuesday, June 9 (subject to change). Until the signal is reactivated, the traffic signal heads have been covered, allowing continuous traffic flow along Cornell Road. Crosswalks are closed since pedestrian signals are also down.
As a safety precaution, left turns have been temporarily prohibited from Cornell Road to Elam Young Parkway at this location. Westbound traffic will need to access Elam Young Parkway from Cornell Road at the east intersection.
