Learn about construction coming to Roy Rogers Road through an online construction kickoff open house through July 15.

Construction will be completed in seven phases beginning in July. Roy Rogers Road will remain open throughout construction with traffic flagged for daytime lane closures. Lavender Avenue and Lynnly Way will each be closed at Roy Rogers Road for about two weeks. Construction is expected to be completed in October 2024.

Roy Rogers Road is being improved between Chicken Creek and Borchers Drive with:

  • Five motor vehicle lanes (two travel lanes in each direction and a center turn lane)
  • Multiuse path for cyclists and pedestrians
  • Storm drainage improvements
  • Street lights
  • Sound walls

The road project is in partnership with the Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS) drinking water transmission pipeline installation. A 66-inch diameter water pipeline will be installed during the road construction project. This collaboration reduces the impact to the community by reducing cost and traffic impacts.

WWSS is a partnership between Tualatin Valley Water District and the cities of Hillsboro and Beaverton to build an additional seismically-resilient regional water supply system in Washington County.

The $17.8 million construction contract with Tapani, Inc. is funded through Washington County’s Transportation Development Tax and Willamette Water Supply System reimbursements.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
