The public is invited to comment on the First and Last Mile project in an online open house through 5 p.m. Nov. 1, hosted by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation.

The project aims to improve access to public transportation throughout Washington County, by identifying strategies to make transit a safe, accessible and viable travel option for everyone. The FLM project identified:

  • Priority locations for programs and strategies including:
    • Bicycle and pedestrian improvements
    • On-demand transportation including shuttles, ridesharing, carsharing and bike-sharing
  • Obstacles to increased transit use including:
    • Unconnected sidewalks
    • Substandard bike facilities
    • Infrequent pedestrian crossing signals
    • Lack of streetlights
    • Lack of transit near major employers

Visit First and Last Mile Open House and share your feedback. The project team will consider feedback when developing recommendations.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
