Comment on design alternatives for the Farmington and River roads intersection at an online open house through May 3.

Four design options for the Farmington and River roads intersection are being considered to improve traffic flow and safety. Options include traffic signals and three roundabout alignments.

This intersection of two heavily traveled roads is currently controlled with stop signs. Travelers experience long waits during peak commuting times.

Comments on the alternatives will be accepted through May 3. Once an alternative is selected, the design will be further developed. A second open house is anticipated for late 2020 or early 2021. Construction is tentatively expected for summer 2021 through spring 2022.

To participate in the open house, visit the Farmington and River Roads Intersection Open House or contact Capital Project Services at 503-846-7800 or [email protected].

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner
