Effective Sunday, April 15, the seasonal "carry traction devices" requirement in Washington County snow zones will be lifted until next winter.

The requirement is normally in effect November through March but this year's winter weather lingered into April. As a result, Washington County Department of Land Use &Transportation Operations and Maintenance Division decided to prolong the requirement in accordance with the ODOT/Washington State Department of Transportation decision to extend studded tire season.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
