Construction on improvements to Brookwood Parkway, between Shute and Meek roads near Highway 26, began Monday, August, 17.

The road will be widened to three lanes in each direction. Additional improvements include consistent sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the road, storm drainage upgrades, landscaping, and street lighting. A traffic signal will also be installed at Brookwood Parkway and Huffman Street.

Construction will occur during nighttime hours: 7 p.m.-5 a.m. Monday-Friday and 10 p.m.-8 a.m. on weekends. Travelers should expect delays or use alternate routes for the duration of the project. Cornelius Pass Road and 185th Avenue are the suggested alternate routes for all traffic. However Cornelius Pass Road is under construction during daytime hours.

The $11.2 million project is being funded through Oregon's Jobs and Transportation Act (JTA) program and the City of Hillsboro Transportation Development Tax (TDT) funds. Construction is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2016.
