Brookwood Avenue Paving Scheduled Week of June 25 – Expect Delays

Media Release regarding the Brookwood Avenue Paving Scheduled Week of June 25-29
Media release

For Immediate Release: Monday, June 18, 2012

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation, Capital Project Services Division

Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation plans to place the final layer of pavement on Brookwood Avenue between TV Highway and Main Street/Baseline Road, the week of June 25. Paving work will occur between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays of up to 20 minutes and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the work area during paving hours.

During paving, one lane of traffic will generally remain open on Brookwood Avenue. The traffic signal at the Brookwood Avenue and Main Street/Baseline Road intersection will need to be shut down during this work, but flaggers will route traffic through as quickly and safely as possible. The public’s patience is greatly appreciated.

This work is weather dependent and conditions must be appropriate for paving to occur. If the weather forecast changes for any part of the week, the paving work will be postponed.

Visit www.wc-roads.com the week of June 25 for the most current paving status on this project.
