Funding for eight Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Projects was approved for design and early planning by the Washington County Board of Commissioners during its Nov. 21 meeting.
The projects, totaling $6.6 million, are funded through the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) and will improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Projects approved for funding are as follows:
- 179th Avenue from Ivy Glenn Drive to Farmington Road – sidewalk on one side (CPO 6)
- Springville Road from Kaiser Road to Samuel Drive – sidewalk on one side (CPO 7)
- Rosa Road from Farmington Road to 198th Avenue – sidewalk on one side (CPO 6)
- Rigert Road from Charlotte Drive to Bryan Way – sidewalk on one side (CPO 6)
- Madeline Street from 180th to 192nd avenues – sidewalk on one side (CPO 6)
- 185th Avenue from Burnsridge Park to Bethel Court – sidewalk on one side (CPO 6)
- Ecole Avenue from Jenkins Road to Brightwood Street – sidewalk on one side (CPO 1)
- West Union/Thompson roads from Bronson Creek Drive to 153rd Terrace - sidewalk on one side (CPOs 1 and 7)
The Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee selected the projects unanimously following a public comment period.
