The county’s three-year Aloha-Reedville Study and Livable Community Plan is at the halfway mark. We have completed an Existing Conditions Report and have received more than 2,500 community comments to date. Many important issues have been identified and the project team is engaging the community to explore potential solutions.

“This project is an important opportunity to plan for the future. We want the Aloha-Reedville community to get engaged in this process, and to play a significant role in helping shape that future,” said Andy Duyck, Chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners. Several project-related events are planned this week, and the entire community is invited to join us. All events will feature family-friendly activities:

Community Building Fair – Thursday, October 11, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
This open house will provide an overview of the project as well as in-depth information on specific issues. You can review and provide feedback on a range of community issues and potential solutions.

Aloha High School Football Game – Friday, October 12, 5 – 9 p.m.
We’ll be on hand with study information encouraging folks to join us for Saturday’s events.

Community Workshop and Celebration – Saturday, October 13

  • 8:30 - 10 a.m.: The day begins with a repeat of Thursday’s open house.

  • 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Join us for an interactive Community Workshop where we will discuss issues facing the community and ideas for addressing them.

  • 2 - 6 p.m.: The celebration begins! Join us for a Celebration of Community with entertainment, food, activities for adults and children and opportunities to hear from local officials regarding the significance of this study. Results from the morning workshop will also be available for attendees to review and discuss with project team members.

All events will take place at Aloha High School, 18550 SW Kinnaman Road at SW 185th Avenue (map). We hope to see you there!
