For Immediate Release: Friday, June 15, 2012

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation

Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation will temporarily close Old Cornelius Pass Road at the bridge over Rock Creek for 75 days, beginning Monday, July 9, 2012. The road will be reopened by September 22, 2012, pending any unforeseen circumstances.

The bridge is located between Phillips Road and Rock Creek Road. Traffic will be detoured over to Cornelius Pass Road. Detour signs will be provided along the designated detour route. Travelers should anticipate longer commute times during the closure period.

The closure is necessary for a contractor to replace the existing substandard bridge. Construction is anticipated to be complete November 2012.

This project is funded through the Oregon Transportation Investment Act (OTIA) program.
