Washington County Land Use & Transportation (LUT) is hosting Work for Public Works, a multi-agency career fair 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Washington County Walnut Street Center, 1400 SW Walnut Street.

LUT and the cities of Portland and Beaverton will have staff available to tell participants about their on-the-job experiences. Agencies will have equipment on display for attendees to see and learn about firsthand. Staff can also talk about pay, benefits and employment opportunities.

“Public works agencies everywhere are excited to get new hires on board,” said Todd Watkins, Manager, LUT Operations and Maintenance Division. “We want to show job seekers that serving the community as a public works employee is a rewarding career with great benefits.”

LUT is hiring for open positions on its road crew. Job fair participants will be able to get assistance submitting applications and learn about the hiring process. No experience is required. English fluency is a job requirement.
