Comment on two Pongratz Road projects at an online open house through April 18.

The culvert, between Tolke Road and Ardabeth Lane, is too small and often clogs. A 72-inch diameter metal culvert will be installed to improve water flow and allow fish to pass upstream.

The Pongratz Road bridge at Whitcher Creek, east of Tolke Road, is weight limited. The wooden bridge will be replaced with a concrete bridge to support heavier vehicles.

Pongratz Road will have two back-to-back road closures this summer, first for the culvert and then for the bridge replacement. Access to homes will be maintained throughout the closures.

The cost of the culvert is $450,000; cost for the bridge is $800,000. Both are funded through the County’s Road Fund.

Visit the open house or email Capital Project Services or call 503-846-7822.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
