An open house for the 69th Avenue Bridge Replacement Project is 5-7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 6815 NE Birch St.

A closure of 69th Avenue, at Rock Creek. will begin Aug. 15. The road is expected to reopen in May.

During the closure, traffic will detour onto Quatama Street, Cornelius Pass and Baseline roads, Century Boulevard and Dogwood Street. See map

The existing timber bridge on 69th Avenue (formerly 227th Avenue) is being replaced with a wider single-span concrete bridge. The bridge has been restricted to one lane and weight limited to 13 tons since September 2016.

The estimated $3.5 million project is funded through the Washington County Road Fund in partnership with the city of Hillsboro.
