Early intervention is the hallmark of the Washington County Juvenile Department. While utilizing a variety of evidence-based practices to intervene in delinquent behavior, the Department has a long-standing commitment to community collaboration to meet the needs of at-risk youth and their families.

Over the last four years, the Juvenile Department has participated in a special partnership with the Tigard Tualatin School District through the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative. The partnership also includes the Tualatin and Tigard Police Departments, Washington County Mental Health Services and the Commission on Children and Families.

As the federally funded portion of the collaboration winds down, the outcomes will continue to provide help and support for youth and their families in these communities.
