Resources for unhoused individuals in severe weather
Washington County’s Winter shelter system is operating under an enrolled program this year due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions. Efforts are currently underway to expand community capacity to shelter unhoused individuals during severe weather conditions expected later this week. Those experiencing houselessness can seek assistance by contacting one of the following:
- Community Connect: Call 503-640-3263 for available services and housing assistance, seven days a week.
- 211 info: Call 2-1-1 or visit www.211info.org for information on shelter, services and housing available statewide.
- Washington County Winter Shelter Registration: Apply online at www.co.washington.or.us/homeless to be placed on a wait list for the next available bed within the 200-bed Winter Shelter Network.
Several community partners are increasing their outreach efforts to encourage houseless individuals with disabling conditions or fragile health to seek shelter. Members of the public who would like to help by contributing supplies or making financial donations are encouraged to contact any of the following organizations who serve as a lifeline to houseless individuals in Washington County:
