Public review process launched for Supportive Housing Services Local Implementation Plan
In May 2020, the metro-wide Supportive Housing Services (SHS) Measure was approved by voters to advance a wide variety of coordinated response and prevention resources dedicated to reducing chronic homelessness. Over the past several months and in alignment with Metro’s framework for developing these strategies within each tri-county jurisdiction, Washington County has coordinated the effort to create a Local Implementation Plan (LIP) specific to our community.
The Washington County SHS-LIP has been drafted based on broad community feedback, data analysis of current programs, local unmet needs and racial disparities, as well as the shared values and commitments of the regional program. The plan has been further informed by the LIP Advisory Committee comprised of a broad membership of community stakeholders and experts. The LIP framework will act as starting point for program implementation and continually guide the ongoing work to address homelessness with supportive housing in Washington County.
Washington County is currently seeking feedback from county residents, through March 24, 2021, to ensure that the LIP accurately addresses the needs, concerns, values and opportunities of our community. Feedback received will be incorporated into a final draft to be considered for approval by the Washington County Board of Commissioners and the Metro Regional Oversight Committee.
