Today, May 21, is Election Day! Here’s what you need to know

With Election Day finally here, Washington County election officials are reminding registered voters that their ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. today, May 21, to be accepted and counted. Voters can either drop off their ballot at an official drop site, return it by mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS), or in-person at the Elections office located at 2925 NE Aloclek Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Ballots mailed today will be accepted as long as they are postmarked by May 21 and received by the Elections Office by May 28. Ballots received after May 28 will not be accepted, regardless of the postmarked date. A list of Official Drop Sites can be found below and at WashCoVotes.org.

Washington County Elections Office will remain open until 8 p.m. to assist last minute voters. If you need any assistance, or have any questions, please contact the elections office at 503-846-5800.

Voters in Washington County can sign up to receive alerts via text, email, or phone throughout their ballot’s journey via BallotTrax. The notifications sent from Washington County Elections will indicate when your ballot has been mailed, when it has been accepted for counting, or if there is an issue that needs to be addressed by you, the voter. The first unofficial results for the May Primary Election will be released shortly after 8 p.m. Updates for all ballots received and processed so far will be shared to the Washington County voter turnout webpage. Preliminary results will also be provided through the Secretary of State’s website.

Results will be posted on Washington County’s website the following dates and times:

• May 21, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.
• May 21, 2024, at 10:00 p.m.
• May 21, 2024, at midnight
• May 24, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
• May 31, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
• June 7, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
• June 14, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
