Ballots Must Be Received at Official Collection Sites by 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19
Washington County elections officials encourage voters to mail their ballots as soon as possible for the May 19 Primary Election so that all ballots are processed in a timely manner.
Voters throughout Oregon should have received their ballots by mail over the recent weekend. Information about vote-by-mail, voter eligibility and other election matters may be found at the Washington County Elections Office website or by calling 503-846-5800. Currently, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Elections Office is closed to in-person visits but assistance is available remotely as listed above or by appointment. For a few days leading up to the election, special hours of operation for in-person visits will be in effect on May 14, 15 and 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Election Day, May 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those who must visit in person are asked to observe CDC guidelines by keeping a 6-foot physical distance from other patrons and also consider wearing a facial covering.
Voters are encouraged to mail their completed and signed ballots, without the need for added postage, no later than Wednesday, May 13. After this date, ballots should be dropped off at official collection sites in order to meet the voting deadline on May 19.
Please note that in response to the COVID-19 crisis, all libraries have been temporarily closed and are not able to accept ballots indoors as in previous years. The following 24-hour collection sites are available throughout Washington County and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Election night.
