Washington County taxpayers encouraged to pay tax bills online or by mail for 2017-18 tax season.
The 2017 property tax season has officially begun with statements in the mail to property owners across Washington County. However, for taxpayers who prefer to pay their bill in person, this year will be a bit different. In January, the department of Assessment and Taxation (A&T) was temporarily relocated from their previous office space to another nearby location in downtown Hillsboro. The move was made to allow for the seismic retrofit construction project, now underway, in the Public Services Building. The current location for Assessment and Taxation is 161 NW Adams Avenue.
Due to a much smaller office footprint, taxpayers are encouraged to pay their bill by mail or through online options. Appointments for passport services also provided by A&T will be curtailed for approximately two weeks to accommodate public assistance related to tax inquiries and payments. Please view the recent media release for additional details regarding 2017-18 property tax statements.
