Results: Seat Belt Patrols End with 1,562 Stops
The statistics speak for themselves. In 2017, more than 10,000 people in the United States were killed in vehicle crashes where the occupants were not wearing seat belts, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). That’s why the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with NHTSA, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSAA), and law enforcement agencies across the state to promote proper seat belt use and increase public safety.
