The Washington County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is a 55 - hour training program that combines classroom and “hands-on” instruction to members of the community. The classes provide an opportunity to observe the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office first-hand.

Washington County Deputies arrested a man who is believed to have burglarized several homes in a neighborhood.  The man was captured after a search of the area.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office completed their assistance with the Scoggins Creek Fire incident. The Sheriff’s Office worked in partnership to assist numerous local and state agencies as they combated the fire.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office employees donate proceeds of October fundraiser to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Foundation and CASA Helps Kids. The Foundation is a volunteer non-profit organization that supports various Sheriff’s Office programs through donations.

On July 4, 2015, Sheriff’s K9 Stark assisted deputies in tracking down two suspects in two separate incidents, both after a short pursuit.  Both suspects were arrested and taken to jail.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners recognized and presented a formal award to Sheriff Pat Garrett that marks the agency’s fourth consecutive national law enforcement accreditation by Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
