July 8 - 10: Author Events with Cory Doctorow, Science fiction author, activist, journalist & blogger
Washington County, Oregon: The Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is pleased to present three free public events July 8, 9 and 10th featuring internationally renowned science fiction author, activist, journalist and blogger Cory Doctorow.
The Doctorow author events are a featured part of the 2014 WCCLS Summer Reading program designed with adult audiences in mind. Author of bestselling novel Little Brother, Doctorow will be speaking about how technology and politics affect our lives as readers and citizens.
Author Event Venues:
July 8th at 7 pm - Beaverton City Library (12375 SW 5th St, Beaverton)
July 9th at 7 pm - Tigard Public Library (13500 SW Hall Boulevard, Tigard)
July 10th at 7 pm - Hillsboro Main Library (2850 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro)
The events are free and open to the general public. No reservations are required for the Doctorow author events.
Individuals with a valid WCCLS library card are also invited to participate in the annual adult summer reading program by registering as a reader on-line. This year participants will have the chance to win an iPad Mini! Participants can take advantage of great book lists to find new authors, or meet other bibliophiles at library programs this summer. Readers are invited to post their own book reviews to the wccls.org catalog and library social media sites.
Literary Elements is the theme for the 2014 WCCLS Adult Summer Reading Program. To register for the summer reading program please visit wccls.org/asrp.
