Washington County Elections begins mailing ballots to voters for the 2024 November Election

Today, October 16, Washington County Elections is mailing out ballots to registered voters for the General Election, held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voters can expect their ballot to arrive by Tuesday, October 22.

Registered voter who are not yet 18 years of age will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after their 18th birthday. If you have not received your ballot by October 22, a replacement ballot can be requested by contacting the Elections Office at 503-846-5800(Link opens phone app).

Return your ballot in-person, by mail or at an Official Ballot Drop Box

Once completed, ballots can be delivered to Washington County Elections either in-person at the Elections Office, by mail, or through an Official Ballot Drop Site until 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

Ballots mailed back must be postmarked on or before Election Day. No postage is needed when returning your ballot. Washington County has 21 official ballot drop box locations, all of which are accessible 24 hours a day. The Ballot Drop Box located at the Law Enforcement Center has moved to the County’s Public Services Building

Due to ongoing construction, the ballot drop box that was originally at the County’s Law Enforcement Center on 215 SW Adams Ave has now moved to the parking lot located directly behind the Public Services Building on 155 N 1st Ave, Hillsboro 97124(Link is external). This move will affect voters in the 97123 and 97124 zip codes. Please keep in mind that voters will need to enter through W Main Street(Link is external) on Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5 to access the ballot drop box. The Elections Office will have staff onsite at the Public Services Building parking lot on these days to help direct the flow of traffic.

Voters are encouraged to use the Ballot Drop Box located at Westside Commons

Voters living near the Hillsboro Airport and Westside Commons (formerly known as the Fair Complex) are encouraged to drop off their ballots at the drop box located in the parking lot of the Wingspan Event & Conference Center instead of the drop box outside of Brookwood Library. The suggested drop box is located at 801 NE 34th Ave, Hillsboro 97124(Link is external). A completed list of Official Ballot Drop Boxes can also be found below and online at WashCoVotes.org.

The notifications sent from Washington County Elections will indicate when your ballot has been mailed and when it has been accepted, or if there is an issue requiring further action by you, the voter.
