Washington County announces a three-part podcast series related to elections

This three-part series is designed to give listeners an inside look at how elections are administered in the county and dives into the vital support services available to all voters in our community.

With nearly 400,000 registered voters in Washington County, the Elections Office is committed to ensuring that every eligible citizen feels informed, confident, and empowered to vote. In its ongoing effort to boost transparency, tackle misinformation and foster trust in the electoral process, the office is launching a dynamic new podcast series designed to give listeners an inside look at election administration while highlighting the vital support services available to voters throughout the community.

The three-part series will kick off with an exclusive sit-down interview with Washington County’s Elections Manager, who will discuss what really happens to your ballot once it leaves your hands. Whether your ballot is dropped in a ballot box or is sent through the mail, this episode explores the step-by-step process that ensures every vote is counted accurately and unravels the mysteries of the vote by mail system, while discovering the behind-the-scenes efforts that safeguard our elections.

“Our goal is to build trust and transparency around the voting process” said Dan Forester, Washington County’s Elections Manager. “We’re continuing to work diligently to be a trusted resource for the county’s residents and this series is just one of the many tools we’re using to provide voters with a clear understanding of how elections are run in Washington County.”

The next two episodes will focus on:

  1. Engaging the Community - Episode two will give listeners a special look at the voter education initiatives led by the Elections Offices in collaboration with trusted community partners, displaying the ongoing efforts to ensure every voter has access to reliable information.
  2. Voter Assistance and Accessibility Services - The final episode will dive into the services provided by the county’s Voter Assistance Team, including support for voters with disabilities, language access services, and other resources designed to ensure that every eligible voter can fully participate in the electoral process.
