Tricia Mortell to Join Washington County as Public Health Division Manager

Mortell has more than 30 years of public health experience, first with Multnomah County and most recently as chief operations officer for Clark County Public Health.

Tricia Mortell, RD, MPH, is joining Washington County Department of Health and Human Services as its public health division manager. Mortell replaces Marni Kuyl, MS, RN, who briefly held the position before being promoted to director of Health and Human Services.

Mortell has more than 30 years of public health experience, first with Multnomah County and most recently as chief operations officer for Clark County Public Health. She holds a bachelor's degree in community nutrition from Oregon State University and a master's in public health from the University of Washington. She also completed the Dietetic Internship Program at OHSU.

"Public Health is in a time of tremendous change," says Mortell. "Washington County Public Health is well-positioned to assume new roles and continue serving as a leader in community health. I am honored to have been chosen as division manager."

Mortell's first day at Washington County is September 29.
