Registration is underway for a free five-week family caregiver training series sponsored by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services' Family Caregiver Support Program and No Worries Comprehensive In-Home Care.

The series has been offered since 2005 and is designed for family members and other unpaid caregivers who provide care for older adults in the home. The training takes place on Wednesdays, September 2-30, from 1-4 p.m. at the Nimbus Conference Center, 9403-B SW Nimbus Ave, Beaverton.

Topics include self-care, basic personal care techniques, assistive equipment, providing care to a memory-impaired person, elder law considerations, hospice and end-of-life planning, and community and county resources.
